In 2015, the United Nations and its member countries adopted Agenda 2030 -- which is a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals with a total number of 169 targets. The SDGs cover a broad range of social and economic development issues. These include poverty, hunger, health, education, climate change, gender equality, water, sanitation, energy, environment and social justice.
The Institute of Caribbean Studies mission is to serve as a catalyst to engage civil society and in the private sector in deepening attention to and pursuit of the SDGs.
Several of the Sustainable Development Goals are directly aligned with our initiatives.
