What is an ICS Business Opportunities Exploration?

Similar to a trade mission, such as those led by the Department of Commerce, or organized by a State or City Department of Economic Affairs or International Trade Division, yet different; the ICS Business Opportunities (BizOpps) Exploration is designed to let you the small business owner explore how to do international business at an accommodating pace and level.  The group size is limited to 25 to allow for more interaction between the participants as well as more opportunity for participants to receive individualized attention on the ground in the host country.

What does a ICS BizOpps Exploration Entail?

Participants visit one country, spending an average of 4 days.  The exploration will generally include a structured program of business briefings, plenary sessions, possible site visits, and effective networking events. Participants will be introduced to potential partners in the host country; and as Registered Buyers to EXPO Jamaica 2012, will have one-on-one business meetings tailored to their individual needs.  Participants will learn about doing business in the Jamaica through ICS designed BizOpps Seminar, and gain exposure to the social and business cultures, through experiencing Meet at Home Dinners on the ground.

Why participate in ICS Biz Opps Exploration?

An ICS BizOpps Exploration puts you the Small Business Owner (1-200) employees on the map. This allows you to showcase your capabilities and abilities. They help to open doors and develop long-term trade and investment opportunities. They build credibility for exporters looking to position themselves in foreign markets.  They build confidence in you the small business owner looking to go international.

An ICS BizOpps Exploration offers you:

  • access to key business leaders and decision-makers;
  • greater confidence in international market place;
  • unparalleled networking opportunities with the local business community;
  • one-on-one business meetings with potential partners; and,
  • the opportunity to initiate, develop or complete deals.

Is there a cost to participate in ICS BizOpps Exploration?

There is a participation fee to join the Delegation. Fees help defray the costs of facilities and service providers.  Fees are based on costs in the host cities and are charged on a per participant basis. Participants are also responsible for paying their airfares, hotel costs and any personal expenses.
